KSU Foundation

Hiring Policy

It is the policy of the KSU Foundation to be an equal opportunity employer and to hire individuals solely on the basis of their qualifications and ability to do the job to be filled. Unless otherwise provided in writing, employment with the foundation is considered to be at-will, so that either party may terminate the relationship at any time and for any lawful reason.

Selection procedures

When candidates from outside the foundation are to be considered for job openings, the following procedures should be implemented:

Applicants selected to be considered for job openings will be interviewed by human resources and the immediate supervisor. Any skills tests required for the job will be administered through the human resources department. The human resources department will conduct personal reference and background checks on candidates considered for hire.

Methods of assessing thinking styles, occupational interests and behavioral traits may be administered by human resources to analyze the candidate’s job-related attributes and compare them to the qualities required to perform successfully in the position.

Following a decision to hire the applicant, the human resources department will assist in the offer of employment which should include any necessary contingencies or disclaimers. The human resources department will then determine whether the applicant has the legal right to work in the United States.

The human resources department will consider requests for accommodation of disabilities and religious beliefs and will determine what, if any, accommodation will be made.

If the personal reference or background checks disclose any misrepresentation on the application materials or information indicating that the individual is not suited for employment with the KSU Foundation, the applicant will be refused employment or, if already employed, may be terminated.

The human resources department is responsible for the orientation of new employees and the processing of their employment forms. The supervisor is responsible for any necessary job training.

The foundation is an equal opportunity employer and will not discriminate in hiring against qualified individuals with regard to age, race, sex, religion, disability, military status or national origin.
